Eight years and thirty-some concerts later, the Friends of Celtic Culture, a Great Lakes Bay Region non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the arts and culture of the Seven Celtic Nations, is alive and thriving in the year 2012.
"This is going to happen!" shouted Mike Campau, now entertainment chair of the FCC, as he sat at the "Irish Round Table" in the back of the Green Hut Tavern in Bay City, Michigan (circa Spring, 2004). The Blondins enthusiastically agreed, and Gary Colopy, soon to be vice president of the group said, "But, But!" "No buts about it. It’s gonna work!" blurted Denny Hayes, later to become the eight-year president of the FCC. And happen it did! Thousands of Celtic music fans of the Tri-Cities have been entertained and hundreds of school kids have been edified in the culture and music of Ireland; Scotland; Wales; Cornwall; Galicia; Brittany; and the Isle of Man.
